VHF UHF Digital TV Antenna

VHF UHF Digital TV Antenna

With the coming cessation of analog transmissions, marketers are busy promoting their DTV and HDTV aerials without telling their customers that a VHF UHF Digital TV Antenna is all you need to receive the new signals.

An indoor rabbit ears augmented by a wire loop or bowtie is sufficient to receive the new signals if they are strong in your area. If they are weak, however, you may need an external aerial. If you already have one of these and you have an analog receiver, the only thing you need to purchase is a converter box to receive the station's signals.

You can check if your present aerial is capable of receiving the new signals by performing a channel scan after connecting it to your converter box, and the latter to your analog receiver; or to your DTV. Converter boxes and DTVs have a button that gives you access to the set-up menu. Use the directional arrows to reach the option that searches for the new type of signals in your area. If you do not see any picture on your screen, check your connections. If you receive some channels but not others, adjust or reposition your aerial. If you do not see any picture at all, check the strength of the signals of local stations with FCC.
